Chief Commissioner Stanimir Stanev was born in 1965 in Plovdiv.

Education:

Chief Commissioner Stanimir Stanev holds a Master’s Degree from the Technical University of Gabrovo with a professional qualification in Electrical Engineering.
He has participated in trainings of the International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA), Budapest.

Professional career:

He started working in the system of the Ministry of Interior in 1992 as a civil servant in the Railway Police, Plovdiv, which he headed in 2009.
He was Head of the Railway Police Department within the Criminal Police General Directorate, Head of Sector in the Specialized Police Department in Sofia, Head of Departments in the Criminal Police General Directorate, Financial Controller in the Plovdiv Regional Directorate of Interior.
In 2019 he was appointed Financial Controller in the Kardzhali Regional Directorate of Interior, and then Inspector in the Countering Economic Crime Sector.
In the end of 2020 he was appointed Deputy Director of Kardzhali Regional Directorate of Interior.
By order of the Minister of Interior, dated 08 June 2021, Chief Commissioner Stanimir Stanev was appointed Director of General Directorate National Police.
