Interior Minister Marinov: We are taking measures for enhanced border security

Additional gendarmerie police forces are deployed at the Bulgarian-Turkish border. At present, there are no attempts for illegal crossing into our country, apart from isolated cases. Security at the border with Greece has also been reinforced. We maintain constant contact with our Turkish colleagues. We are ready; response plans in such situation are in place. At a meeting with our Turkish counterparts, we reiterated the position that the EU-Turkey Statement should continue to be implemented, Bulgarian Minister of Interior Mladen Marinov said after a visit to the Kapitan Andreevo border crossing point.
