Border Police Director: Currently there is no migrant pressure on Bulgaria

Bulgaria is currently not facing a migrant pressure. At present, police officers from the Gendarmerie Directorate and the National Police General Directorate are deployed to assist Border Police at the Bulgarian-Turkish border. Additional forces are not needed at this stage. Thorough checks are carried out at the entrance points to prevent unauthorized entry into our country. Security at the border with Greece has also been reinforced by border patrols and technical equipment.
