Operation Solidarity begins at the Bulgarian-Turkish border

An agreement to establish joint patrols to guard the EU external border was signed today by representatives of the participating countries in the contingent: Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, and Austria

In the presence of Ministers Daniel Mitov, Cătălin Predoiu and Sándor Pinter, the heads of the competent authorities of the four countries signed an agreement between the General Directorate “Border Police” at the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Bulgaria, the General Directorate for Public Security at the Federal Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Austria, the National Police Headquarters at the Ministry of the Interior of Hungary, and the General Inspectorate of Border Police at the Ministry of the Interior of Romania for the establishment of joint patrols. The document was signed on the Bulgarian side by Chief Commissioner Anton Zlatanov, Director of the General Directorate “Border Police”, on the Austrian side by Franz Ruf, Director General for Public Security at the Federal Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Austria, on the Hungarian side by János Balog, Chief of the Hungarian National Police Headquarters, and from the Romanian side by Cornel Stoica, Inspector General of the Romanian Border Police.
