Minister of Interior Emil Dechev participated in a meeting of the Salzburg Forum, held within the framework of the Hungarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. During the conference, he greeted and held talks with Hungary’s Minister of Interior Sándor Pintér.
Interior ministers discussed current security challenges, the future development of European agencies CEPOL, eu-LISA, Europol and Frontex, as well as prospects for further cooperation.
The Salzburg Forum is an informal security cooperation initiative established in 2001. It brings together nine EU member states from Central and Eastern Europe: Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia.
