Interior Minister Ivan Demerdzhiev Calls for Stronger International Cooperation Against Corruption

Bulgarian Interior Minister Ivan Demerdzhiev met with Birgitte Strobel-Shaw, a representative of the Secretariat of the Global Operational Network of Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Authorities (GlobE Network), operating under the auspices of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).

Discussions focused on strengthening international cooperation against corruption, financial crime and the concealment of illicit assets.

The Minister highlighted the importance of rapid information exchange, cross-border investigations and tracing illicit financial flows, including those involving cryptocurrencies.

He reaffirmed Bulgaria’s commitment to closer cooperation within the GlobE Network to support effective investigations and asset recovery.
