Certificates for verification of e-documents
This page contains information regarding certificates issued by the Republic of Bulgaria needed for verification and authentication of Bulgarian electronic passports and Residence Permits. Some information of the issuing authorities is also included.

Certificates for the Public Keys of CSCA
CSCA certifies the Document Signers (DS) and the DS sign the Security Object (SOd) which is stored in the e-document. The actual certificate of the DS, which contain its public key, is also included in the SOd.
Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Bulgaria has established two Document Signers and each of them is assigned to a different type of e-document:
- DS-P is the authority, which signs the data in the e-passports;
- DS-R is the authority, which signs the data in the e-residence permits issued to foreigners.
Public key certificates:
The current public key is available as self-signed certificate, and as link certificate, verifiable by the previous public key.
