Personal Data Protection
Your personal data is processed by the police authorities of the General Directorate "Border Police" in the course of performing their official duties, pursuant to Article 102 of the Law on the Ministry of the Interior.
Your personal data is processed by the police authorities of the General Directorate “Border Police” in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 — the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) — concerning the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and the free movement of such data, repealing Directive 95/46/EC.
Pursuant to Article 29(1) of the Law on the Ministry of the Interior, the data controller is the Minister of the Interior, who may delegate the processing of personal data to officials duly authorised by him.

- Request from the controller access to the data relating to you;
- Request the rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data;
- Request the erasure of unlawfully processed personal data concerning you and/or request that specific data not be processed.

NATIONAL AND EUROPEAN INFORMATION SYSTEMS

NATIONAL SYSTEM — Automated Information System “Border Control”
The Automated Information System “Border Control” is an information database within the meaning of Article 24 of the Law on the Ministry of the Interior, in which personal data are processed in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act.
Entry/Exit System (EES)
The EES records the data of third-country nationals (non-EU citizens) who travel for the purposes of a short stay (no more than 90 days within a period of 180 days) when crossing the external borders of the Member States.

European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS)
ETIAS is an electronic system for the pre-screening of third-country nationals who do not need a visa for short stays (up to 90 days within 180 days) in the Schengen area. The system will check travellers before their arrival, with the aim of enhancing security and supporting the management of the European Union’s (EU) external borders.

Schengen Information System (SIS)
The Schengen Information System (SIS) is the most widely used and the largest information-sharing system in the field of security and border management in Europe. Since there are no internal borders between the states of the Schengen area in Europe, SIS compensates for the lack of border control. It is the most successful tool for cooperation among border, immigration, police, customs and judicial authorities in the EU and Schengen-associated states.

Visa Information System (VIS)
The Visa Information System (VIS) enables Schengen States to exchange visa data. It consists of a central information system and a communication infrastructure linking this central system with national systems. VIS connects consulates in countries outside the EU and all external border crossing points of the Schengen States. It processes data and decisions related to applications for short-stay visas for visits or transit through the Schengen area. The system can perform biometric matching, primarily of fingerprints, for identification and verification purposes.
